At Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the communities we serve. If you don't have health insurance, our financial counseling staff is here to help you to find and access government or private programs that may help you pay for health care.
The first step is to see if you are eligible for a government-sponsored health program (i.e. Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Medicare, disability). Financial Counselors are available to work with you to complete the application process. If you qualify, these programs can provide access to health care and other vital social services for you and your family. If you need assistance, please call a Financial Counselor at +1-210-478-5400.
If you are not eligible for a government program, you may qualify for Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio needs-based Financial Assistance program.
The Eligibility and Enrollment Services Program is a hospital service provided to you at no cost. You may qualify for government programs, which would pay for all or part of your hospital and medical expenses. Our Patient Advocates will provide applications and are available to assist you in the application process. Please contact Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio at +1-210-478-5400 for additional information.
Outside Assistance Programs For Which You May Qualify:
A Financial Assistance Program is available to patients that do not have the means to pay for hospital expenses and do not qualify for any Medical Eligibility Programs. You may qualify if your household income is below 200% of the federal poverty limit. To be considered for the financial assistance, you will be required to provide information on your household finances through a confidential Financial Application. Documentation will be requested to verify your circumstances in order to determine eligibility. Please contact Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio at +1-210-478-5400 for additional information.
As a courtesy to patients, Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio submits bills to your insurance company and will do everything possible to expedite your claim. However, it may become necessary for you to contact the insurance company or supply additional information to them for claims processing requirements or to expedite payment. You should remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill.
If you have certain tests or treatments, you may receive bills from physicians you did not see in person. These bills are for professional services rendered by these doctors in diagnosing and interpreting test results while you were a patient. Pathologists, radiologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and other specialists perform these services and are legally required to submit separate bills. If you have questions about these bills, please call the number printed on the statement you receive from them.
